A new cluster, Canis, with 20 dual Opteron nodes was launched

Orion and Canis serve different needs. Orion is used for running big production jobs with in-house codes that do not need frequent library updates.

Canis was designed for use by the students and staff of the Center for learning and for running software that need continuous updates of libraries and compilers. In fact, Canis is instrumental for the sucess of the transfer of knowledge activites.. 

Who we are:

The Computational Science Laboratory (UCY-CompSci) was established in 2005 as a Marie Curie Transfer of Knowledge (TOK-DEV) Center with the aim to promote a core of excellence in the computational sciences and engineering in the School of Engineering at the University of Cyprus.
