Humidity Effects and Hygroscopic Aerosol Growth
UCY-CompSci has join forces with the Institute of Chemical Process Fundamentals of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic in order to develop a simple benchmark case for the study of hygroscopic formulations aiming for improved delivery efficiency to the lungs. This project entails both experiments and high-fidelity numerical simulations of turbulent airflow and particle transport (including heat transfer, water vapor transfer, and aerosol growth effects) in a simplified mouth-throat-trachea bent pipe geometry, suitable for validation and benchmarking.
